A significant challenge for American families is that the majority of college seniors have four or more credit cards, and the average college senior carries a monthly balance of $3,000. Ten percent of college students have more than $7,000 in debt, and many college students pay more in interest on their credit cards than on their student loans. *

We want to help you avoid these situations. That's why we work on many levels to teach the adult spenders and money managers of tomorrow about personal finance. In addition to the courses and presentations we provide for public schools and colleges, New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union offers a number of products and services that help young adults — and their parents — manage their money and prepare for the future. This Web site for students and young adults is one of those efforts.

You can get answers to your questions by visiting our Web site or e-mailing us any time day or night. Credit Union representatives are available online Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. In most cases, you'll have a response no later than the next business day. Whatever your financial needs, we're here to help. That's "The Power of WE."
