Courtesy Pay Overdraft Protection*
Whether it is a simple miscalculation or forgetting to write down a transaction in your checkbook, unexpected car or home repairs or medical expense, we understand emergencies come up and mistakes happen.
Our Courtesy Pay Overdraft Protection helps in these rare occurrences and help cover overdrafts from checks, Visa® Debit Card or debit card transactions, ATM withdrawals and ACH (for automatic bill payments) and saves you the embarrassment and makes sure that your items are paid. This service is available to qualified members and you must opt-in for this service.
To Opt-in, simply fill out our online form below.
*Courtesy Pay Overdraft Protection Service pays checks, point-of-sale debit card (Visa® Debit Card) transactions, ATM withdrawals and ACH transactions presented against your checking account when it is overdrawn. We will charge you s fee of up to $21-$35 each time we pay an overdraft using Courtesy Pay Overdraft Protection. If you account is overdrawn for 3 or more consecutive business days a $5 fee will be charged each day thereafter if the account remains negative. New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union pays overdrafts at our discretion and reserves the right not to pay.

Preventing Debit Card Fraud
Protecting your credit and your financial identity is a top priority for New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union. Therefore, we use Falcon Fraud ManagerTM, an industry leading fraud detection system, which is one of the state-of-the-art tools we use to protect your accounts. If one of your transactions is identified as suspicious, it may be denied, and you will be contacted via phone by a fraud investigator to verify the transaction.
So, if you receive a call asking about a purchase made with your Credit Union Visa Debit Card, please take a moment to talk to our fraud investigator - and help us prevent possible debit card fraud. Please note, the fraud investigators will never ask you for personal non-public information such as your PIN number, CVV2 code, social security number or account number. They will simply be verifying information pertaining to the transaction(s) in question.
