$250,000 Federal Deposit Insurance

Each depositor at New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union is protected by up to at least $250,000 of insurance by the National Credit Union Association. This insurance is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government. No member has ever lost a single penny of savings in a Federally insured credit union.

With the signing of the Stabilization Fund Measure by President Obama in May 2009, NCUA $250,000 of federal deposit insurance (previously $100,000) has been extended through December 31, 2013.

Please note that your federally insured funds can actually be much higher. For example, IRAs are separately insured for up to at least $250,000, and through combinations of ownership of accounts, you can achieve additional insurance coverage. Ask for details from one of our Anywhere Advisors at 889-7755 (800-347-2838 from outside the Albuquerque area) or speak with a Financial Consultant in any of our branch offices.
